Set eSpeak NG as your Android text-to-speech engine, and every app that uses text-to-speech can speak through it: TalkBack, ebook readers, learning apps, navigation and your own apps. You can adjust:

- Pitch and pitch range.
- Volume.
- Voice variants (male, female, whisper, klatt and more).

eSpeak NG uses formant synthesis instead of recorded speech, so the engine and all its voices fit in a small download and work without an internet connection. It uses little battery and stays clear at very high speeds, which is why screen reader users who read fast like it.
MADE FOR SCREEN READER USERS
Designed for TalkBack users and tested with TalkBack. The voices install automatically on first launch, and if eSpeak NG isn't your default voice yet, the home screen takes you straight to the setting. The Reader can be controlled from the notification.
OPEN SOURCE
This app is an independent Android build of eSpeak NG, made and maintained by RedZoc. It is not the official eSpeak NG project; RedZoc contributes fixes back to it. The eSpeak NG engine is licensed under GPLv3+ by Jonathan Duddington and the eSpeak NG community. The Android port is derived from the Google eyes-free project under Apache 2.0, with additional Android changes by RedZoc, also under Apache 2.0.
